An organic Bordeaux wine. A medium bodied wine fermented in French oak barrels. This vintage 2015 exalts the maturity of the vintage: dense and young colour, black fruits nose with eucalyptus notes, which completes the aromatic palette. Smoothness and density mark this wine on the palate.

REGION

Bordeaux, France

GRAPES

65 % Merlot

35 % Cabernet Sauvignon

VINEYARD

Terroir: Cotes De Bordeaux

Soil: Naturally well-draining chalky clay and gravel clay hillsides

In 2009, the property launched his 100% organic vines and the château produced its first organic vintage in 2012. The grapes are grown on 5 hectares from 30-year-old vines in a vineyard with south-east exposure.

This old hunting lodge, built in the 17th century, owes its name to the historic figure of Ogier de

Gourgue who was an adviser to King Louis XIII, Treasurer of France and Commissioner of Finances for Bordeaux. Overlooking the Garonne hills, this charming estate now belongs to the Vincent family, since 2010.

FOOD PAIRING

Chicken, Red Meat and Fish

WINEMAKING

The organic grapes are selected by an optical sorting machine before they enter the winery and then vinified in conical stainless-steel vats with temperature control. Extraction occurs via a series of regularly repeated short pumping’s over provided the quintessence of this extremely successful vintage. This long vatting period gave the wine great depth

The grapes spend 12 months in French oak barrels, with 1/3 renewed each year.

REVIEWS

James Suckling’s expert opinion was...¨Very fresh currants on the nose with some watermelon and freshly cut flowers. Full body, round and velvety tannins and a flavourful finish. Polished, velvety texture. Made from organically grown grapes. Drink in 2020.¨

Yves Beck commented ...¨Dense garnet red. Bouquet of good intensity, with fruity and spicy notes.

Delicious, refreshing attack. On the palate, the wine is pleasant, balanced and juicy. Slightly creamy, the wine has structure and well-integrated tannins. Fruity finish. (drink) Now -(until) 2024 88/100¨.
